Turkish language or Türkçe is the official language of Turkey, which is part of the Turkic language family. In the world, the Turkish language is spoken by about 73-75 million people, which is about 40% of the total number of all Turkic native speakers. This fact puts the Turkish language in first place in terms of the number of speakers among all Turkic languages.

Since 1928, Latin script has been used for the Turkish language, which makes the learning process easier for those who are familiar with the Latin or English alphabet.

The Turkish language is distinguished by almost complete absence of exceptions to grammatical rules. Reading is not a big issue too - words are read the same way they are written. The sentences are built according to a strict model, i.e. each word has a specific position. All these factors make learning process much easier.

There is a number of words that are familiar to an English-speaking person: basketbol - basketball, futbol - football, greyfurt - grapefruit, hol - hall, süveter - sweater. But you there are not so many of them. Turks today are reluctant to borrow foreign words, replacing them with their own counterparts.
